Providing practical and spiritual support since 1897 to those working in the Railway industry

Area of Work

John DayJohn Day is the Railway Chaplain at King's Cross station. Amongst the activities he is involved in are bereavement and personal counselling, visiting the sick, and dealing with many needs, of both a spiritual and practical nature.

The Culross Mission's area of work primarily covers staff at all levels, working out of London King's Cross Station, for services on GNER, WAGN and Thameslink routes north as far as Peterborough, King's Lynn and Bedford, and depots and signalboxes within this area. We also work with those working for the British Transport Police.

Through the help of the Culross Committee, we offer grants to railway widows/widowers, their families, and families with special needs. This is a long term ministry. This support for their practical needs comes from collections and donations by railway staff, including retired staff and many interested friends all around the country. We are happy to receive donations at any time, with the assurance that the gifts that are given are used completely for the purpose for which they were given. There are no administrative costs.
